Calling all Cambridgeshire musicians! Be part of a groundbreaking 5G Augmented Reality performance at Cambridge Corn Exchange

Connecting Cambridgeshire is offering local musicians and bands an exciting opportunity to showcase their talent and be part of a cutting-edge 5G technology trial at the iconic Cambridge Corn Exchange.

In collaboration with digital agency Gooii Ltd and as part of our government-funded Cambridgeshire Open RAN Ecosystem (CORE) project, we’re testing an advanced 5G network with different use cases including this one that involves Augmented Reality (AR).

Selected musicians and bands will have the chance to perform live on stage in early 2025, with the unique twist of streaming the gig to an audience outside the venue wearing AR headsets – giving them an immersive, next-level experience.

This will be a paid performance for musicians with original material, and it’s a chance to step into the spotlight where legends like David Bowie, Queen, and Amy Winehouse once performed. Not only will you perform on this legendary stage, but you’ll also be among the first musicians to be part of an augmented reality performance!

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to raise your profile, test the future of live music technology, and be part of the innovation driving 5G forward in Cambridgeshire. Apply today and become part of something extraordinary!

How to Apply:

Musicians and bands based in Cambridgeshire were invited to apply by sending a YouTube video of a live performance. PLEASE NOTE: The closing date for applications was Friday 8 November 2024.
