Business support roadshow for women
Women across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough can now sign up for help to grow or start up their own businesses by gaining digital skills and taking up faster broadband.
Connecting Cambridgeshire is working with The Bratton Group to provide a roadshow which will hold events around the county as part of its successful Destination Digital business support project.
Friendly experts who can explain things in a non-technical way will offer FREE workshops and one-to-one sessions covering websites, social media and other IT skills, plus advice on how to grow your business and make the most of digital technology.
Women are being urged to book online for the roadshows which start in December 2015 and run until March 2016. Events will be held at venues in Melbourn, Peterborough, Huntingdon, Littleport, Chatteris, Cambourne, Cambridge, Godmanchester, Ely and Wisbech. Book online by visiting the Bratton Group website here.
The project is supported by The Government Equalities Office, which has awarded £49,300 further funding from the Women and Broadband Challenge Fund, to continue providing practical help for women-led businesses and female entrepreneurs after the success of our first Women and Broadband events.
Welcoming the award, Cambridgeshire County Council Business Champion, Councillor Mathew Shuter, said: “Connecting Cambridgeshire’s Destination Digital project has already helped hundreds of businesses gain the skills and technology they need to grow and compete in a digital world. This extra funding will support women-led businesses and flexible working, which all helps to support the local economy and create jobs.”
Destination Digital has already helped close to 2000 businesses with grants, training and advice to use digital technology and improve their broadband connections. Find out more at www.destinationdigital.info
